Espiritu de Chile Intrepido Reserva Merlot 2019

Espiritu de Chile wines are crafted for the adventurer. For those seeking to find some of the best wines the Curicó Valley of Chile has to offer. Located 115 miles south of the capital city, Santiago, the Curicó Valley features the greatest variety of grapes in the country. The soil of the Curicó Valley is some of the most fertile, with deposits of limestone and volcanic rock from the Andes Mountains and is irrigated by snow melt of the Lontue and Teno Rivers. 

The grapes for this Merlot were carefully harvested and vinified. Fermentation took place under controlled temperature conditions between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius to preserve the freshness, smoothness and intensity of aromas. Following fermentation, 50% of the blend was aged in third fill or older French and American oak barrels for eight months and the remainder was aged in stainless steel vats to preserve fruity aromas. 

This Merlot, captivates with its fruity character, with a hint of vanilla, black cherries, chocolate and mint. It’s a very distinctive wine, with balanced structure. It has developed a highly refined character, being aged in oak barrels, without losing the fruity notes. We recommend pairing with mature cheese, chicken and roast beef.
