El Explorador Malbec
El Explorador Malbec
Over the past decade, Malbecs popularity has exploded. So much so that it is hard to remember a time when Malbec wasn’t one of America’s favorite, crowd-pleasing reds. For quite some time, Malbec was thought of merely as one of the six wines allowed to be blended into a Bordeaux. That all changed about 100 years ago when Malbec grapes were transported from France to enrich and improve Argentina’s wines and vines. Over a century later, Splash Wines started importing El Explorador Malbec from Argentina. It quickly became a staff and customer favorite.
What makes Malbec so popular is how easy it is to drink and how well it goes with or without food. Along with the rich, inky purple color and herbaceous notes of spice, the red fruits balanced with oak make this a dynamite wine to enjoy with steak and a chimichurri or simply after a long day at work. Some people love to call Malbec a working man’s Merlot and we couldn’t agree more.
