Founded in 1858, Marques de Riscal is the oldest winery in the famed Spanish wine region of Rioja. The realization of a dream by Don Camilo Hurtado de Amezaga, who was driven by the devastation of Bordeaux by phylloxera in the 19th century. Don Camilo saw an unrealized potential in what is now Rioja Alavesa for quality wine production. His small family launched the winery in 1858 and subsequently released their first vintage in 1862. Over 150 years later, the team at Marques de Riscal is still innovating with this vibrant Sauvignon Blanc!

Vibrant flavors of lime, green apple and fresh melon are the hallmarks of the best Spanish whites, and this Sauvignon Blanc is a gem from the historic Marques de Riscal winery. Sauvignon Blanc from Spain? There isn't much planted, and the estate vineyard Marques de Riscal planted in 1974 was originally from clones found in France's Loire Valley. Combining the fresh and vibrant flavors of Sauvignon Blanc with the high altitude vineyards of Rueda produce a wine of intense aromas of citrus fruits, pineapple, and melons with a crisp, clean finish. A perfect wine pairing for the hot days of summer, this expressive Spanish white will pair well with salads, light pastas and shellfish. Elegant and easy to drink!
